Xu Chu, also known as "Tiger Fool," was a prominent warrior serving under Cao Cao during the late Eastern Han dynasty and Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history, as depicted in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Hailing from Qiao Commandery, he gained renown for his immense strength and bravery.

Initially a leader of a band of rebels, Xu Chu submitted to Cao Cao, impressed by the latter's leadership and vision. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming Cao Cao's personal bodyguard. His unwavering loyalty and exceptional combat skills made him an invaluable asset.

Throughout his career, Xu Chu participated in numerous battles, often facing off against the most formidable opponents. He is famously remembered for his duel with Ma Chao at the Battle of Tong Pass, where their clash of strength was legendary. His dedication to protecting Cao Cao was paramount, exemplified by incidents where he fearlessly shielded his lord from danger.

Xu Chu served Cao Cao and later his son Cao Pi with unwavering devotion until his death, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most powerful and loyal warriors of the era. He was noted for his simple, straightforward nature, and his ferocity in battle earned him respect and fear from allies and enemies alike.
